I believe we all have the right to worship as we please. I also know that our country, the United States of America, was founded on Christian principles. I believe we should be proud of our country.
No country is perfect and ever will be. That being said, what makes America ‘exceptional’ are a number of things.
Yes, the original thirteen colonies included areas where the evil of slavery was permitted. The facts are that there was a large number of the original colonists who opposed slavery. There were attempts by the original settlers to stop it as the colonies began. The sitting government of Britain’s Monarchy forced it upon the colonies, and there were certainly flawed people who were willing to use the evil of slavery in the colonies.
More than 100 years later, when the Declaration was written and the American Revolution began, Thomas Jefferson and many of the founders included a condemnation of slavery in the original drafts. Several of the southern colonies refused to agree to signing the declaration and joining the effort to reject England and become our own sovereign nation if slavery was ended. There was no way to defeat King George and his army without all the colonies united.
From the colonial times, through the US Civil War, women’s suffrage, the passage of the civil rights bills; it has been bible believing Christians who have led the charge. Our Declaration, our Bill of Rights and our Constitution are all based on a biblical worldview and Judeo-Christian principles.
From the date of the Declaration, to the passage of our Civil Rights bills, it took 189 years for our collective nation to arrive at a place where we are living up to the values, principles and truths of our Declaration which declares… “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.
Ravi Zacharias, the recently deceased theologian, and international evangelist once said; “We should never judge a religion [or worldview] by its abuses, but by its truths”. This is absolutely true when it comes to both Christianity and our Declaration of Independence. Just because many people have failed to live by these values, principles, and beliefs, does not make them false.
The facts are, and still remain, that America, our laws, and our form of governance is entirely based upon Judeo-Christian values and principles. These include the Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Worship.
Those of you who are Okay with and advocating for censorship, cancel culture, and an all-powerful intrusive government that can tell you that you are not free to have a Thanksgiving gathering, that you can’t read or bring your Bible to school, that you can’t pray in school, etc. … It is YOU that are violating our Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is you who are sadly placing greater trust in an all-powerful collective tyranny of the majority and denying the Declaration and Bill of Rights.
Our Declaration, Constitution and Bill of Rights work in concert to protect the rights of the individual from the majority. As such, these documents are unique from any other constitutions in the history of mankind. In fact, the average lifespan of a national constitution is 17 years. The United States Constitution was ratified in 1789, 231 years ago. That makes it the longest lasting constitution in the history of man.
With all of this in mind, while the founders were flawed men, because all men have flaws… incredibly the founding principles they enshrined in our laws and declaration they got exactly right. I for one believe that only happened by divine intervention.
America and the American people have done more to bring peace, freedom and prosperity to the rest of the world than any other nation in history. Even when we have involved ourselves in war and conflict across the globe, it has never been to conquer other nations, annex them or take control. After defeating fascist, communist, and socialist dictatorships and setting their people free, we never demanded control of their nations. In fact, after spending our own human blood, lives, and treasure in liberating these nations; we then spent our own treasure and resources to rebuild those nations ravaged by war. We left those nations to govern themselves, and only asked for political, economic, and military alliances in return.
Today, we are allowing our Big Tech overlords to censor us. Many of you sadly think that is Okay.
A quote is a quote. It should not be amended or watered down.
News media organizations, universities and public institutions should not be afraid of or preventing individuals from using phrases such as “In God We Trust”, “God Bless America”, “Love of Christ”, or any other religious freedom of expression.
Many in our media, academia and government censor such speech, “Because, using the words Christ or God might offend someone!”
Our laws were never designed to protect any of us from being “offended”. How sad have we become as a people when we are so afraid of being challenged by alternative opinions or ideas that we would advocate to have people silenced, and even canceled because they carry a different view than another? How weak is your mind and disposition if you cannot handle hearing certain words or phrases? This is why many us call such people “snowflakes”.
Well, now it’s my turn to be offended! I am offended that the news media would edit out the context of certain reports, stories etc., because they have some sort of religious or Christian views in them.
It is offensive that Christians are being asked to tread lightly, so as not to offend someone of another religion or no religion.
This man, Jesus, loved God, loved his people, loved the world, and gave his life for the sins of all people. Those who believe in Him, and accept Him as their personal Savior, will have everlasting life.
Jesus was an incredibly polarizing and offensive person during his time on earth. He called the corrupted religious and government leaders of his time “snakes”, a “brood of vipers”, “liars” and “haters of the truth”. He was not always or only talking of loving and sweet ideas. He boldly entered the temple on one occasion in a fit of righteous anger, knocking over tables, hurling angry criticisms, and chased people out of the building calling them a “den of thieves”. He forcefully and boldly spoke truth to power in many of the biblical accounts. He even once said to one of his disciples, “get behind me Satan”. These were all offensive actions on His part.
The Founding Principles that are enshrined in our Declaration of Independence are: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
These self-evident truths are not reserved for only a select few. They are declared for every American, including those who disagree with you and me… including those who will criticize you and me.
Deal with it!
I hope every Christian and every American who believes in God and is offended by having their rights trampled on… will share this.

At the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created. His answer was: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
If you are Okay with or advocating for censorship. If you are Okay with national or local media outlets spinning news stories to fit one narrative or another… or ignoring and omitting stories that Americans need to hear in order to develop informed opinions and make informed decision… If you are Okay with social media using “fact checkers” who use mistruths and lies in efforts to censor others… If you are Okay with some of the most powerful people in our government violating our laws and constitution in their disgusting corrupt and illegal attempts to undermine our country and people… then you are advocating for totalitarianism and not defending our Constitution or Bill of Rights. If that is you… then you are part of the problem and not the solution.
